One of the most exciting new products at Wares of Knutsford this summer is the Olivia range of bottles for oils. Ideal for a Mediterranean table setting, they can be filled with oil, vinegar or dressing to accompany summer salads.

There are three bottles for oils in the Olivia range, in 250ml, 500ml and 750ml sizes. It is designed in the style of ancient amphoras, a classic and elegant shape, in high quality clear glass. They are topped with gold duet caps with a tamper evident finish and are sold singly or in packs of six, 12 or 18.

Remember that by ordering larger pack sizes you benefit from economies of scale and the unit price goes down, and that Wares of Knutsford’s delivery charge is fixed, so you won’t pay any extra for delivery no matter how much you order!

Using the Olivia oil bottle

Mediterranean restaurants have a habit of supplying olive oil and vinegar in elegant bottles at the table, for diners to dip their bread into or to dress their salads. This very civilised habit is certainly healthier than spreading butter on bread and a couple of Olivia oil bottles on your summer table will look very stylish. Fill them with premium oil and flavoured vinegar, or with pre mixed salad dressing. The bottles are equally suitable for liqueurs, cordials or sauces.

Flavoured oil bottles

Infused oils taste excellent, look pretty and are easy to achieve using dried herb. They also make attractive gifts. These oils will keep for a long time, but if you use ingredients with any moisture retention, such as garlic, peppers or fresh herbs, make sure you refrigerate and use within a week.

Italian flavoured oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 strips lemon peel
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary

Add the ingredients to an Olivia oil bottle then fill to the top with good quality extra virgin olive oil. Refrigerate, leave to infuse for 24 hours and serve drizzled over plain pasta with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese. Alternatively you can drizzle the oil onto ciabatta bread or over salad.
