Old Fashioned Milk Bottles

Do you remember when the milkman used to come every morning? The faint hum of the electric milk van and the welcoming, early morning chink of the old fashioned glass bottles as he placed them outside the front door? Well retro is all the rage, so at Wares of Knutsford we have made sure you can buy milk bottles in the traditional style. If you’re going for a vintage theme with your home décor, these bottles will be an indispensable part of the look.

Our traditional milk bottle range comes in the familiar, sloping shoulder shape in high quality clear glass with a twist off lid. The range includes four sizes: 250ml, 330ml, 500ml and 1 litre. The smaller bottles are available in packs of 12, 24 or 36, and the 1 litre size comes in packs of 6, 12 and 18. Choose your preferred lid colour from gold, silver or black.

The smaller milk bottles can be used for serving smoothies, juices, cocktails and, of course, milk and look super cute with a straw. These have been very popular at birthday parties, weddings and other events and are a great way of encouraging children to drink something other than fizzy drinks! Our customers have used these bottles to serve drinks at children’s birthday parties and to great effect as vases, creating casual floral centrepieces at modern weddings.

Make snack time retro with milk bottles and cookies

Go retro with your afternoon snacks by offering children milk and a couple of cookies after school – served in our traditional style bottles, of course. It looks good and, if you use homemade oat cookies, provides children with just the right amount of energy to get through their homework before going out to play. If your children won’t accept plain milk, whizz up a banana with some milk, a couple of ice cubes and a scoop of ice cream to make a tempting smoothie.

Larger bottles are ideal to create a traditional breakfast tablescape and look far more stylish than modern, coloured milk cartons. Enjoy breakfast together as a family rather than grabbing a coffee on the run, by setting the table properly with milk, cereal, croissants, yoghurt, fruit, juice and maybe even scrambled eggs and toast. Take the time to present it well and make it a meal to set you up properly for the day and create some special family time.
