This is your chance to create a new recipe or share a family favourite. And the prize is, wait for it, is 192 8oz jam jars with lids. A brilliant prize we think you’ll agree for any preserving enthusiast or creative cook. Entering is simple.  Just like our page on Facebook if you haven’t already done so. Then, you can either email your recipe to or via our competition link at on our Facebook page. And don’t be shy about sharing our page with your friends. If you win, you can always share your prize with a friend.

As the UK’s favourite preserving emporium, we like to encourage our customers’ creativity and passion for preserving. Jam jars are of course an essential staple of any kitchen and once you get the preserving bug, are one of your main investments.

Our competition prize gives you the chance to win 192 jars with lids! The jars are 228ml.  Our competitions are one of the ways we can thank our customers for the loyalty and support which has allowed our business to grow.  And as you’d expect the jars we’re giving away are good looking as well as practical so will make fantastic gifts at Christmas once you’ve decided what to fill them with!

We’re expecting some truly inspiring entries, from recipes old and new. Sweet or savoury, we can’t wait to read your recipe ideas and try them. All short-listed entries will be re-created in our own testing kitchen so we can thoroughly taste-test our favourites.

  1. my recipe is for ‘ Gooseberry & Rhubarb Jam’ – one of my husbands fawourite jams.

    2lb Gooseberries
    2lb Rhubarb
    3lb sugar
    little water in bottom of pan

    Simmer fruit in pan till soft but not too mushy – add sugar and boil until 220 degrees on thermometer – fill hot jars with jam. So simple really.
